2022 dual-threat quarterback Kaden Martin is already a popular name in East Tennessee.

That's because Martin's dad is Tennessee Vols wide receivers coach Tee Martin, the quarterback who led UT to a win in the BCS championship game in 1998.

The Vols officially offered Martin on February 11.

One of the biggest questions when a legacy player is being recruited is usually "is he really that good".

In Martin's case, the answer is yes.

The young quarterback, who is also a standout baseball player, debuted as a four-star recruit in Rivals' 2022 rankings.

In other words, the Vols aren't pursuing Kaden Martin just because his dad is Tee Martin. They're pursuing him because he's a really good football player. And they believe he can help Tennessee win games in the future.

Martin also holds offers from Alabama, Duke, Kentucky, Ole Miss, USC and West Virginia, among several others.

The Vols are obviously the favorites here. But Jeremy Pruitt and his staff, including Tee, are still going to have to work hard to make sure they don't let Martin slip away.

Never take anything for granted — especially in recruiting.
