The LSU Tigers will host the Tennessee Vols on Saturday in Baton Rouge.
It'll be the first time the two teams have played in Tiger Stadium since 2010 when the Vols lost because they had 13 men on the field on what was supposed to be the final play of the game.
This year's matchup between LSU and Tennessee will also be the first time the Vols are the higher-ranked team in their matchup since the 2001 SEC Championship game when UT was ranked No. 2 and the Tigers were ranked No. 21 (LSU won that game 31-20).
Tennessee is currently ranked No. 8 in the nation while LSU is ranked No. 25.
On Thursday, Tigers head coach Brian Kelly was asked about the Vols' standing as a top-10 team.
Kelly suggested that Tennessee is very deserving of being ranked inside the top 10.
"Certainly a group I think, from a talent standpoint and an execution standpoint they do a great job," said Kelly. "You know our hands are full. It's a top 10 team and they deserve to be. So I think when you're going up against a team of this caliber, you really have to focus on what you do and execute at a high level."
It definitely sounds like Kelly has plenty of respect for the Vols. He isn't overlooking Tennessee or viewing them as "overrated", which means that LSU should come into this game with the right mindset.
This won't be an easy game for the Vols. The Tigers have had plenty of issues this season — especially on offense — but they're a talented group that could put it together at any time.
Tennessee is just hoping "any time" isn't this Saturday.
