Despite losing 44-41 to the Georgia Bulldogs this past weekend, Tennessee moved up several spots in CBS Sports’ power rankings.
Tennessee went from No. 17 to No. 12 this week, thanks to its near upset of the Bulldogs.
“It’s difficult to see the light in the haze of a heartbreaking overtime loss, but the Vols might be the second-best team in the SEC after losing to Georgia in overtime,” noted CBS Sports’ Brandon Marcello. “The Vols started hot, then traded jabs before missing a field goal and losing in overtime to the Bulldogs. Joey Aguilar was fantastic, scoring five total TDs and throwing for 371 yards and four scores.”
