The Tennessee Vols are one of three programs trending for an elite 2026 edge rusher from the west coast.
Rivals.com's Adam Gorney noted this week that Tennessee, Texas, and USC are the three programs standing out the most for 2026 four-star edge rusher Shaun Scott.
Gorney also noted that Alabama and Ohio State hoping to get into the mix as well.
Scott, 6-foot-4/225 lbs from Santa Ana, CA, is rated by Rivals as the No. 49 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.
The talented pass rusher attends the same high school (Mater Dei) that current Vols wide receiver Bru McCoy attended.
Scott is set to visit Tennessee in late March. USC, however, is probably viewed as the favorite due to the distance factor. But the Vols have proved under Josh Heupel that they can secure elite talent from the west coast, which means Tennessee should be considered as a program that's very much in this battle.
