There were plenty of emotions on the field after the Tennessee Vols' win against Evansville on Sunday evening in Knoxville.
Tennessee earned a trip to the College World Series in Omaha thanks to the win.
After the game, Vols redshirt sophomore outfielder Kavares Tears shared an emotional (and wonderful) moment with his family that was captured by Full Disclosure Productions' Paige Dauer.
What an incredible moment for Tears and his family.
Tears, like almost every college baseball player, came up through the travel ball circuit, which can be a grind (for the players and the families). Countless weekends are spent at baseball tournaments. Hotels and fast food become mainstays. And very few of those players actually get to play at the collegiate level.
So when you see that joy and emotion from Tears and his family, it's because years of sacrifice and dedication went into getting to this point. Tears' baseball journey isn't over, but this is certainly one of those moments in his baseball career that will be a special memory forever.
