Tennessee Vols junior running back Dylan Sampson had a rough start to his night in UT's win against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.
Sampson fumbled late in the first quarter as the Vols were approaching the red zone. As a result, he sat on the bench for much of the second quarter as true freshman running back Peyton Lewis handled the work load (after redshirt freshman DeSean Bishop suffered an injury).
By the end of the night, Sampson's fumble and his apparent benching in the second quarter was a distant memory.
Sampson rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns after his fumble. He also set the Tennessee record for the most rushing touchdowns in a season with 19.
The way that Sampson's night went is a great reminder that one play never defines a game for a player. Sampson was able to put the fumble behind him and have a great game for the Vols.
And not only did Sampson have a great game, but he also had an all-time celebration.
Halloween vibes were in the air in Neyland Stadium on Saturday night. And Sampson's touchdown celebration after his first score of the night reflected those vibes as he celebrated with the dance from Michael Jackson's "Thriller".
It's hard to be unique with celebrations these days, but Sampson nailed it with this one. It was perfectly executed and the dimmed lights in Neyland made it even better.
Well done, Dylan Sampson. That's as good as it gets on a Saturday night in college football.
