One of the best college football players from Week 4 used to play for the Tennessee Vols.

And to make matters worse, he's a defensive back.

Former Vols safety Keyshawn Lawrence, who transferred to Oklahoma after spending one season at Tennessee, was highlighted on Monday as Pro Football Focus' highest graded safety in Week 4.

Lawrence had three tackles and an interception in Oklahoma's 20-6 win against Cincinnati on Saturday.

Lawrence, who is from Nashville, originally signed with the Vols during the 2020 recruiting cycle.

The former four-star recruit spent the 2020 season with Tennessee before transferring to Oklahoma in the wake of Jeremy Pruitt's dismissal as UT's head coach. Lawrence transferred to OU two days before Josh Heupel was officially announced as Tennessee's head coach.

Offensive lineman Wanya Morris and running back Eric Gray also left Tennessee for Oklahoma the same week (Morris and Gray are now rookies in the NFL…Morris is with the Kansas City Chiefs and Gray is with the New York Giants).

I'm sure the Vols would love to have Lawrence in Knoxville considering their struggles in the secondary in recent years. But unfortunately for Tennessee, UT's new coaching staff never had a real chance to convince Lawrence to stick around.
