The Tennessee Vols could be on the verge of landing a transfer target at a position of need.

On3’s Pete Nakos predicted on Monday that Tennessee will land Louisiana transfer running back Zylan Perry.

“The Volunteers are currently hosting Louisiana transfer Zylan Perry for a visit, and sources indicate to On3 that he’s expected to land on Rocky Top,” wrote Nakos.

Tennessee is in need of a transfer running back after losing sophomore Peyton Lewis to the transfer portal.

Zylan Perry made a huge play against the Missouri Tigers this season

Perry, a Louisiana native, rushed for 689 yards (5.0 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns in 2025. He also caught 16 passes for 106 yards.

One of Perry’s biggest plays of the season came against the Missouri Tigers.

Perry, 5-foot-11/207 pounds, broke off an 84-yard touchdown run in the first half of Louisiana’s 52-10 loss to Missouri.

Perry is an under-the-radar transfer player, but he clearly has a dynamic skillset — and the Vols obviously like him.

If Perry ends up committing to the Vols, he’ll share the backfield with DeSean Bishop and Daune Morris.

Perry spent the first four seasons of his career at Louisiana. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
