When the Tennessee Vols take on the Iowa Hawkeyes on New Year's Day in the Citrus Bowl, there will be a familiar face on the opposing sideline.

Well, familiar to Tennessee fans and a couple of sixth-year Vols, such as tight end Jacob Warren and offensive lineman Ollie Lane.

Former Vols quarterback Keller Chryst is in his first season as an offensive assistant at Iowa.

Chryst, who started his college career as a quarterback at Stanford, played for Tennessee in 2018. He saw limited action for the Vols in 2018, which was Jeremy Pruitt's first season as UT's head coach, completing 23 passes for 450 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Illinois native briefly played in The Spring League before landing at Wisconsin as a graduate assistant in 2021 and 2022 under his uncle, Paul Chryst.
