2025 five-star quarterback George MacIntyre, a Tennessee Vols commit, could end up dealing with the same criticism that former LSU Tigers quarterback Joe Burrow dealt with ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.

During the pre-draft process in 2020, Burrow, who was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals with the No. 1 overall pick, was criticized for his hand size.

Burrow's hands measured at nine inches before the draft, which is a bit smaller than the average of the quarterbacks taken in the first round from 2008 to 2020 (9.7 inches).

On Tuesday, MacIntyre arrived at the On3 Elite series in Nashville and according to On3's Charles Power, the Vol commit's hands measured at nine inches.

From On3: Tennessee QB commit George MacIntyre is the tallest signal caller to roll through check-in so far, measuring at 6’6.25, 190 with a 9-inch hand.

This is one of those things that doesn't matter much, but it always seems to dominate the conversation for a few days during the pre-draft process.

Burrow's hand size hasn't seemed to have an adverse effect on his career (he led the Bengals to the Super Bowl in his second season). Other quarterbacks, like Jared Goff, have also been able to thrive in the NFL with nine inch hands.

Patrick Mahomes, who is arguably already a lock to be a Hall of Famer, has hands that measure 9 and 1/4 inches.

(Considering MacIntyre is still a high school student, it's possible he could be in the Mahomes territory, or maybe higher, by the time he's eligible for the NFL draft).

MacIntyre's hand size obviously isn't anything for Tennessee fans to be concerned about. It'll be interesting, however, to see if it becomes a storyline down the road if MacIntyre develops into a top NFL draft prospect.
