Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs and former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Greg McElroy have very opposite takes on whether the moon landing over 50 years ago really happened.

The United States is heading back to the moon.

Well, some people think we’re going back to the moon. And some people think it’ll be our first trip there.

As Artemis II makes its way to the moon, the debate about whether the United States really landed on the moon back in 1969 continues to rage.

Former Vols QB Josh Dobbs and former Bama QB Greg McElroy are on opposite sides of the moon debate

Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs is among the moon truthers who have no doubt that the 1969 moon landing was real.

Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy, on the other hand, does not believe that we’ve been to the moon.

McElroy reasoned that there was a lot of “weird stuff” happening in the 1960s (he isn’t wrong about that).

“I think it was complete propagandist mentality,” said McElroy. “People have tried to dissuade me. People have tried to present counter arguments. I’m not changing my opinion that I don’t think we went to the moon. I think it was pure, genuine propaganda. And highly effective propaganda… Why haven’t we gone back? That’s piece of evidence number one. We haven’t gone back in over 50 years.”

I’d love to see Dobbs and McElroy debate this topic live — especially given Dobbs’ deep knowledge about space and physics. Someone please make this happen.
