Tennessee Vols redshirt senior named as one of the top returning offensive linemen in college football
The Tennessee Vols should have a stout offensive line in 2026.
The Tennessee Vols have one of the top returning offensive guards in college football, according to Pro Football Focus.
PFF’s Max Chadwick recently ranked the top 10 returning offensive guards in college football, and Vols redshirt senior offensive lineman Wendell Moe made the list, ranking at No. 10.
“Moe was Arizona’s starting left guard across the 2023 and 2024 seasons and was nothing short of outstanding as a pass protector during those two years,” wrote Chadwick. “His 88.4 PFF pass-blocking grade in that stretch ranked eighth among all guards in the FBS. Moe moved to right guard after transferring to Tennessee, and while his pass-blocking grade dropped to 64.7, he posted a career-high 75.2 PFF run-blocking grade with the Volunteers. Moe has a stocky build at 6-foot-2, 330 pounds, with natural pad leverage and the upper-body strength to ragdoll defenders.”
Moe actually started three games at left guard and eight games at right guard for the Vols last season, allowing just one sack on 689 offensive snaps (he missed two games due to injury).
The former Arizona offensive lineman joins offensive tackle David Sanders, guard/tackle Jesse Perry, guard Sham Umarov, and center Sam Pendleton as returning starters.
LSU transfer offensive tackle Ory Williams is hoping to earn the right tackle spot with Sanders set to move to left tackle after playing right tackle as a true freshman last season.
(It’s unclear exactly what Tennessee’s starting offensive line will look like in 2026.)
Tennessee has plenty of experience set to return in 2026. That should lead to the Vols having one of the better offensive lines in the SEC.
