Tennessee baseball is swinging a hot bat as a team at just the right time.

The Vols slugged their way to wins over Northern Kentucky, Indiana, and Southern Miss on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively, to win the Knoxville regional and advance to their fourth straight Super Regional.  All in all, the Vols scored 9, 12, and 12 runs in their three wins with a whopping 12 home runs.

In the last of their 12 regional home runs, the Vols reached a mark they never had as a program.  With Cal Stark's three-run bomb to left center to push the Vols' lead to 12-3 on Sunday, Tennessee set a new home run mark for the program with 159, surpassing the 2022 team's total of 158.

It was a weekend of 12s for the Vols.  12 home runs for the regional.  12 runs scored twice.  12 straight regional victories.

Oh, and they slugged their twelfth grand slam.  That also served to set a new record.  The Vols' 12 grand slams set a new SEC single-season record.

The historic swat came on Saturday against Indiana.  With Tennessee up 5-0 in the third with the bases loaded, Billy Amick sent a moonshot over the left field wall for commanding 9-0 lead.

Tennessee now moves on to face either East Carolina or Evansville in the Super Regionals next weekend in Knoxville.  If the Vols' bats can continue bashing the ball over the wall at even half the rate they've been so far this postseason, then Tennessee will be in solid shape to end up in Omaha for the third time in the last four seasons.
