Tennessee Vols trying to pull top tier tight end recruit away from LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Ole Miss

Top tier talented tight end recruits can be hard to come by. There are generally a handful in each recruiting class who go on to become true difference makers, both at the college level and in the pros. And one of those talents in the 2025 recruiting class is likely Da'Saahn Brame, tight end from Derby, Kansas. He's a top notch four star player with perfect size at 6'6", 235 pounds who has been making the rounds on final visits as he nears his commitment date on June 29th.
Brame has offers from almost 40 FBS programs, incredible production, near perfect traits, and could be an immediate impact player wherever he goes. But where will he go? And what makes him so special?
Da'Saahn Brame's elite receiving skills
Brame racked up nearly 1000 yards and 13 touchdowns through the air last year playing a variety of receiving roles for his high school team. He brings with him incredible athleticism and pedigree (thanks to his two Division I athlete parents), strong hands at the point of catch, and length to make plays outside of his frame (as you can see on the score in the post below).
Brame is a smart player who can win at every level of the field and plays with physicality to add value after the catch too. So who will actually be lucky enough to land his talents?
Where will DaSaahn Brame commit?
At the beginning of this week, many would have perhaps answered "Oklahoma" if asked where Brame was most likely to land. He was fresh off his visit with the Sooners and had nothing but great things to share about them saying: "Oklahoma moved up quite a bit, and it is tight up there [at the top] for me with them, Oregon and Tennessee."
Brame has kept his recruiting rather wide open for the majority of his high school career, but lately has narrowed things down to primarily five schools: Tennessee, Oklahoma, Oregon, LSU, and Ole Miss. Kansas State is also likely technically in it until they're officially not, given both of his parents went there, but it's likely down to the aforementioned five options.
Tennessee Volunteers set to host five star wide receiver recruit coming off dominant performance
Five star WR fresh off OT7 Championship to visit
Brame visited Ole Miss in April, LSU in May, and just wrapped his time with Oklahoma. Ole Miss and LSU seem like a distance fourth and fifth option for him at the moment given his most recent comments, but in today's game NIL could reinsert them both into the conversation late. But this week it's the Tennessee Vols' turn to host him as he shared on social media: "Rocky top this weekend."
Brame has already visited with the Vols once unofficially this spring and will now follow up with Josh Heupel and the rest of his staff for what will be their last chance at him (since he'll be committing on the 29th of this month).
While both Tennessee and Oklahoma likely offer early playing time and strong offensive schemes Oregon seems like the favorite to land his services. The Ducks weren't heavily involved in his recruitment until late last fall, but since then he has met with them several times and will be meeting with them for his final official visit on the weekend of the 21st. Lots of buzz towards Eugene, Oregon.
But can Josh Heupel and Tennessee do enough to pull the top tier tight end reruit away from Oregon, Oklahoma, LSU, and Ole Miss this weekend? We're about to find out.
