The Tennessee Volunteers had very little problems in dispatching with the Connecticut Huskies back on November 4, outclassing the Huskies by a score of 59-3.

Well, that is except for one particular Husky.  TE Justin Joly was clearly UConn's best player on the field and ended up catching 8 passes for 89 yards against the Vols' defense.

Now, the Vols should be looking to add his name to their roster.  Joly announced on Thursday that he's entering the transfer portal.

Joly was a two-star recruit out of Iona Preparatory School (New Rochelle, NY) in the 2022 class.  He's played two years with the Huskies, appearing in all 24 games over that span.  This year he finished with 56 catches for 578 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Vols could use an infusion of talent and experience at the tight end position. Jacob Warren and McCallan Castles are both finishing up their redshirt senior seasons and have accounted for basically all of the team's production at tight end this year.  The tight end position, while not one that's produced huge statistics (Princeton Fant 241 receiving yards in 2022; McCallan Castes 265 in 2023), is still one that's important in Josh Heupel's offense.

Joly oozes athleticism and potential at a position that Tennessee will need to get more out of in 2024.  Joly would also get the opportunity to get on the field immediately in a high-octane offense that could help increase his visibility and draft prospects.

Sounds like a win-win for everyone.
