The Tennessee Vols are reportedly receiving a visit from a dynamic playmaker that put up some impressive numbers in 2025.
According to On3, Tennessee is set to receive a visit from Jacksonville State transfer running back Cam Cook. Houston will also receive a visit from Cook.
“Sources tell On3 that Houston and Tennessee will get visits from the running back (Cook) who rushed for 1,659 yards in 2025,” wrote On3’s Pete Nakos.

Tennessee is also interested in NC State transfer running back Hollywood Smothers
On3 also named Tennessee as a school to watch for NC State transfer running back Daylan “Hollywood” Smothers.
Smothers, 5-11, 195 pounds from Charlotte, NC, rushed for 939 yards and six touchdowns on 160 carries at NC State last season. He amassed 571 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 89 carries during his first year with the Wolfpack in 2024. He started his college career at Oklahoma, where he only played four games as a true freshman in 2023. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, and Ole Miss, three teams who played in the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal, are also teams to watch for Smothers. Alabama was smothered by Indiana, 38-3, in the Rose Bowl, and Ole Miss took down Georgia, 39-34, in the Sugar Bowl.
Tennessee is in need of a running back to pair with DeSean Bishop and Daune Morris after losing Peyton Lewis to the transfer portal. Cook or Smothers would be ideal additions to the Vols’ backfield.
