Former Vols WR Jauan Jennings receives quick justice from the NFL after getting hit below the belt on Monday Night Football
Former Tennessee Vols WR Jauan Jennings took a low blow during the 49ers’ win against the Panthers on Monday Night Football.
Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings didn’t have to wait long to receive some justice from the NFL.
Jennings, who is in his sixth season with the San Francisco 49ers, was hit below the belt by Carolina Panthers defensive back Tre’von Moehrig during this week’s Monday Night Football matchup.
After the game, Jennings went after Moehrig. The former Vol eventually had to be restrained by teammates.
“Man, TV (is) going to tell you what happened, man,” said Jennings after the game. “I was just responding to me some childish behavior. That’s all it was.”
“The guy took a cheap shot and hit him in the b—-,” added 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan. “I was real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there.”
The NFL suspends Panthers safety Tre’von Moehrig for punching Jauan Jennings
The NFL acted quickly on Tuesday and suspended Moehrig one game without pay for the low blow.
Jennings dodged a suspension, but he could still be fined for the post-game altercation, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Jennings and the 49ers will take on the Cleveland Browns next week while the Panthers will be without Moehrig against the Los Angeles Rams.
