Tennessee Vols wide receiver Cedric Tillman was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft (No. 74 overall) by the Cleveland Browns on Friday night.

Tillman was drafted one spot after his former Vols teammate Jalin Hyatt was selected (Hyatt went No. 73 overall to the New York Giants).

The Las Vegas native will join former Vols quarterback Josh Dobbs and former UT running back John Kelly in Cleveland (Tillman didn't play at Tennessee with Dobbs or Kelly).

After getting selected by the Browns, Tillman answered questions from Browns reporters.

Tillman told reporters that he plans to dominate in the NFL.

“I use (my size and hands) to my advantage,” said Tillman (via Cleveland.com). “I’m working hard each and every day to get better at other things I may not necessarily be the best at. So I’m going to just bring my tools, my hands, my body, and I’m going to dominate. That’s what I plan on doing.”

Tillman clearly has plenty of confidence, but he's not entering the NFL with the idea that he has it all figured out. The former Vols standout made sure to point out that he hopes to learn from his new teammate, former Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper.

“I’m looking forward to playing with all of those great receivers,” noted Tillman. “I’m very excited. I’ve watched Amari Cooper since his Alabama days, so having one of the best receivers and one of the best route runners being able to learn from him will be huge in my game. So I look forward to it.”

Cooper is known as one of the best route runners in the NFL so Tillman is wise to want to learn from him.

Tillman showed at Tennessee that he has first-round talent, but an ankle injury last season that limited his production contributed to him falling to the third round. Ultimately, falling the draft only hurts Tillman's wallet. He'll get every opportunity to prove that he can dominate in Cleveland.
