The Tennessee Vols made a solid addition to their 2026 recruiting class on Saturday by landing a commitment from 2026 three-star offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda.
Osenda, 6-foot-7/330 lbs from Chattanooga, TN (he's originally from Canada), is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 32 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 10 player in the state of Tennessee. He's also rated as the No. 380 overall player in the nation (I think he'll be a better player than his recruiting ranking indicates).
After committing to Tennessee, Osenda made a statement to On3 about his future on Rocky Top that Vols fans will absolutely love.
Osenda made it clear that he wants to win a national championship at Tennessee.
“Tennessee was in the playoffs this season and they are only getting better," said Osenda to On3. "Coach (Josh) Heupel and the staff have the team playing hard and playing together. I see a great opportunity to learn from the best, play with great players and to win a national championship. Tennessee is a national championship program and it has been a great run under Coach Heupel."
Tennessee showed that the program isn't too far away from that goal after reaching the College Football Playoff in 2024. There's work to be done, as evidenced by the Vols' first-round playoff loss to Ohio State, but adding players with NFL upside like Osenda should help Tennessee get closer to its goal of winning a national championship.
The Vols' 2026 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in the nation. Tennessee currently has eight commits to its 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked No. 5 in the nation. The Vols are also in the mix for a couple of big-time 2026 players, including five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.
Things are continuing to trend in the right direction in East Tennessee.
