Texas A&M's baseball coach gave Tennessee's defense a reason to 'make it personal' this weekend

Make it personal.
That's the advice that the biggest stars in sports give on a regular basis.
From Michael Jordan and Deion Sanders to Joe Burrow to Nick Saban to Bryce Harper, everyone makes it personal on the biggest stages.
So why shouldn't the Tennessee Vols this weekend against Texas A&M?
On Wednesday night, during Jimbo Fisher's radio show, Tennessee's defense received some motivation to make it personal this weekend via an unlikely source — Texas A&M baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle.
During Fisher's radio show, host Andrew Monaco, the voice of the Aggies, mentioned that Schlossnagle had a message for Fisher ahead of Texas A&M's game against the Vols.
"He (Schlossnagle) said 'give Jimbo a message for me, dance on that checkerboard a bunch of times'," said Monaco, to which Fisher replied "that's the idea".
An innocent and fun comment?
Sure. There's nothing wrong with that all. But Tennessee's defense should still make it personal. They should be motivated to keep the Aggies out of the checkerboard end zones.
After all, that's what Coach Prime would do. And that's what Nick Saban would tell his players.
I'm sure there are folks out there who will think that's stretching it a bit. And that's fine. Not everyone is a fierce competitor. But I can guarantee you that Joe Burrow would use it to fire up the Bengals' locker room (just like he used the NFL selling tickets for a Chiefs vs Bills AFC Championship game as motivation last season).
And there's no doubt that Bryce Harper would use it as motivation after he just used an "atta boy Harper" from Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia as motivation (and then stared Arcia down after blasting two home runs in one of the coldest moments in baseball history).
Nick Saban urges his players to make it personal before every game. If that's advice that the best coach in the history of the sport is handing out, it's probably some good advice.
The team that plays with an edge usually wins. And it doesn't really matter where that edge comes from — as long as it works.
Schlossnagle put it on a tee for the Vols' defense and I think they'd be foolish to ignore his "dance on the checkerboard" comment this weekend when the Aggies visit Neyland Stadium.
