One of the Tennessee Vols’ top 2027 recruiting targets will be in Neyland Stadium on Saturday when UT takes on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, 2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges is set to visit Tennessee on Saturday.

“Perhaps the program’s top overall target in the junior class in the country’s No. 2 running back David Gabriel Georges will be back in Knoxville,” wrote Wiltfong. “The Vols are a front-runner for the Chattanooga (Tenn.) Baylor School standout but find themselves in a tight recruiting battle with Ohio State.”

Gabriel Georges, 6-foot/205 lbs from Chattanooga, TN (he’s originally from Quebec, Canada), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 running back in the nation and the No. 15 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

The five-star recruit is a dynamic player who already looks like a lock to be a future NFL player despite being only a junior in high school.

Tennessee needs an electric atmosphere on Saturday night for the Arkansas game to make another great impression on the talented running back.

David Gabriel Georges could return to Tennessee later this season for another visit

According to VolQuest’s Austin Price, Gabriel Georges could return to Tennessee for the Vols’ home game against the Oklahoma Sooners in November.

“I feel like Tennessee has a lot of momentum in his recruitment,” said Price during an appearance this week on WNML. “He and his family will be here this weekend, and I also expect him to potentially return for the Oklahoma game in early November. That’s when Tennessee is slated to go dark mode. So yes, Tennessee is very much in the thick of it (with Gabriel Georges).”

The Vols’ main competition in the battle for Gabriel Georges is Ohio State (the Buckeyes recruit the Chattanooga area well, so they’re a big threat for the five-star recruit).

There’s still a long way to go in this battle. Tennessee, however, is pushing all the right buttons so far.
