Florida Gators legend Tim Tebow made a strong statement about the Tennessee Vols on Wednesday during the SEC Network's coverage of SEC Media Days in Atlanta.

Tebow said he thinks the Vols will be a "dangerous" team if quarterback Hendon Hooker takes the next step in 2022.

"If he (Hendon Hooker) can take that next step, Tennessee is really dangerous," said Tebow.

Hooker played at a high level last season in his 11 starts. I'm not sure there's a "next step" for him to take. Simply getting more comfortable in Josh Heupel's offense and building chemistry with the offense is really all Hooker needs to accomplish this offseason.

Throwing 31 touchdowns against only three interceptions as Hooker did last season is extremely impressive (especially since he came from a totally different system). Hooker just needs to continue to play at that same level and the Vols' offense will once again be elite.

What Tennessee really needs is for the defense to take a big step forward in 2022. Vols defensive coordinator Tim Banks did a great job last season with a unit that didn't have a lot of depth. But if Tennessee is going to win 10 games this season, they'll need to produce more turnovers, generate more sacks, and get off the field in third-and-long situations.

If the Vols can get better in those three areas on defense, then I think 10 or possibly even 11 wins is a very real possibility for Tennessee in Heupel's second season at the helm.
