Titans superstar defensive lineman offers strong take on Vols OL David Sanders viral spring practice rep
Tennessee Vols offensive lineman David Sander went viral this week thanks to a dominant spring practice rep.
Tennessee Vols offensive lineman David Sanders went viral this week for a dominant spring practice rep.
The clip of Sanders dominating a defensive lineman in a one-on-one rep, which was filmed and tweeted by 247Sports’ Patrick Brown, has been viewed 1.5 million times (as of Friday afternoon).
There have been quite a few responses from pro athletes on social media who suggest the rep, despite Sanders’ aggression, wasn’t a “good rep”.
Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons chimes in on David Sanders’ viral moment
Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons took to Twitter/X.com to share his opinion on Sanders’ viral moment.
Simmons asked his former Titans teammate, offensive lineman Taylor Lewan, if he thought it was a good rep by Sanders.
“Outside of the extra dump at the end…he didn’t get no movement,” tweeted Simmons. “The edge should of use length for sure, but this a lost by the tackle outside of the extra finish that all of you OL tries.”

Lewan agreed that it wasn’t a good rep, but noted that he likes the fire and energy from Sanders.
I never played in the NFL or the SEC. I’m in no way qualified to critique offensive line reps — the guys who played in the trenches at a high-level can handle that analysis.
And the consensus of that analysis seems to be that the aggression from Sanders was great, but the technique wasn’t.
But that’s something that can be said of a lot of spring reps that are never captured on camera.
