Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Trey Smith, in what's becoming a weekly tradition, was praised for his intense effort during the Kansas City Chiefs' win against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.

Smith, who is in the final season of his rookie contract with the Chiefs, was praised by ESPN analyst/NFL Hall of Famer Troy Aikman for blocking through the whistle during a play where Kansas City had the ball in the red zone.

"Watch Trey Smith, [number] 65 and what he does," said Aikman. "This is playing through the whistle here. I mean, he's all the way down the field."

That's the kind of effort that we've seen from Smith every week since his rookie season in 2021.

Before the Chiefs' matchup against the Saints on Monday night, former NFL defensive lineman/ESPN analyst Marcus Spears suggested that Smith is a top five guard in the NFL.

Smith, who fell to the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft due to health concerns, is expected to receive a lucrative contract in free agency after the 2024 season. And there's no doubt that he deserves it.
