Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has been relatively quiet so far this season from a national standpoint, but he found himself the subject of headlines again this week thanks to his verbal assault toward Rebels fans.
Kiffin went on a mini rant this week about Ole Miss fans not packing the stands at Vaught–Hemingway Stadium in the second half of games.
US Congressman Tim Burchett, the representative for Tennessee's second district, came across one of the articles written about Kiffin's comments and immediately threw some shade at the former Vols head coach.
Kiffin famously left Tennessee in early 2010 for USC after just 14 months on the job.
His abrupt departure, which happened just a couple of weeks before National Signing Day, set the Vols football program back several years. It was just another of the many catastrophes that's happened to Tennessee's athletic department over the last 10-15 years.
Burchett's shade isn't original — jokes about Kiffin leaving early have been made for over 12 years now — but it was well executed and that's ultimately all that matters in the world of social media.
