Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Trey Smith played a key role on Sunday in what might have been the play of the year.

In the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs' win against the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game, Smith made a key block against former South Carolina Gamecocks edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney that gave quarterback Patrick Mahomes time to find tight end Travis Kelce for an impressive diving catch.

Smith took Clowney out of the play for long enough to afford Mahomes time to make a key play on a drive that led to what proved to be the game-winning touchdown.

Smith is heading to the Super Bowl for the second straight season. This time around, he'll be joined by a former teammate in Wanya Morris, who was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Morris and Smith were teammates at Tennessee in 2019 and 2020 (Morris transferred to Oklahoma after the 2020 season).
