The great mystery about the Tennessee Vols’ blurred out quarterback player has officially been solved.
And it’s not the outcome that most fans saw coming.
In case you missed it, the official Tennessee football X.com/Twitter account went viral over the weekend for blurring out a player in a video of an interception during practice.
The assumption that most folks made (including myself) was that Tennessee blurred out the quarterback that threw the interception to prevent any negative feedback (probably the right move if we’re being honest).
But apparently, that’s not what’s happening in the video.
VolQuest’s Austin Price posted a photo from the video without the player blurred out and it turns out the player was……tight end Miles Kitselman?
Kitselman isn’t completely healthy after suffering an upper-body injury earlier this spring. So maybe Tennessee just wanted to conceal his identity so it’s not obvious what he is or isn’t doing in practice as he continues his recovery.
“He’s pissed at me half of the time because he wants to do more, and he’s gonna push that as hard as he can,” said Vols tight ends coach Alec Abeln last week when asked about Kitselman. “He’s ahead of schedule and doing a great job with it, but just like you’d expect him to do it.”
As for the interception that resulted in Kitselman getting blurred out, it really doesn’t matter which quarterback threw it. An interception during practice isn’t enough to judge any quarterback on.

Syracuse redshirt freshman linebacker Fatim Diggs was asked this past week about the opportunity to play a Tennessee team that reached the College Football Playoff in 2024. Diggs made it clear that Syracuse is […]
