One of the nation's top 2025 athletes is expected to visit the Tennessee Vols in the spring.

On3's Chad Simmons noted on Friday that four-star athlete Jordan Young is hoping to visit Tennessee in the spring before trimming his list to six finalists.

Young, 6-foot/184 lbs from Monroe, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 3 safety in the nation and the No. 2 player in state of North Carolina. He's also rated as the No. 29 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class, which means he could be elevated to five-star status in the not-so-distant future.

According to Simmons, Tennessee is one of the programs that's recruiting Young on both sides of the ball.

Young hasn't decided yet which position he wants to play at the next level (two-way players aren't common these days, but they still make an appearance from time to time….Tennessee could have one this fall in true freshman Boo Carter). But he's expected to make that decision when he commits.

Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, and South Carolina are among the programs recruiting Young.

Young would probably be a better fit for the Vols at safety, but it's not like they're going to turn away an elite athlete if he wants to play wide receiver.
