Tennessee Vols transfer cornerback Gabe Jeudy-Lally had a unique journey to get to Rocky Top.

Jeudy-Lally originally played at Vanderbilt where he obtained his degree in just three years.

While playing for the Commodores, Jeudy-Lally came down with his first career interception as a redshirt freshman during a game against Tennessee (he intercepted former Vols quarterback JT Shrout, who, oddly enough, is now the starting quarterback at Arkansas State for former Tennessee head coach Butch Jones).

Jeudy-Lally spent the 2022 season at BYU before transferring to Tennessee in January.

Earlier this week, Jeudy-Lally joined The Locker Room and he was asked what it's like to graduate from Vanderbilt and then suit up for the Vols.

"It's pretty exciting at the end of the day to be able to play for both sides, especially in the rivalry aspect of things," said Jeudy-Lally. "I actually, when I suited up for Vanderbilt, had an interception against the Vols. So hopefully this time I can repay the favor for the Vols and get one when we play Vandy."

Jeudy-Lally said he decided to move on from Vanderbilt because of a coaching change and because he had already received his degree.

The Texas native added that he wanted to compete for a national championship in his last year playing college football (I believe he would have a COVID year of eligibility remaining if he chose to take advantage of that).

It's clear that Jeudy-Lally is on a mission in what could be his final year of college football. And that's certainly something that every Tennessee fan can appreciate about the former Vanderbilt defender.
