The Vols are still trying to achieve their goal of winning the SEC East. It can still happen, as long as they beat Missouri, and hope for an LSU win over Florida on Saturday.

Florida (7-2) and LSU (6-3) kickoff at Noon CT in Baton Rouge to play the game that was rescheduled from October 8 due to Hurricane Matthew. The Gators are limping into this matchup, missing seven starters. The Tigers have been on a high since the firing of Les Miles in September. Interim head coach, Ed Orgeron has the Tigers playing fierce and his only loss is 10-0 to Alabama. I like LSU to beat Florida. LSU can't win the West, but the players have plenty to play for. These guys seem to want Orgeron as their head coach.

If Tennessee gets good news from Baton Rouge, it'll hold control its destiny on the road to Atlanta needing wins over Missouri and Vanderbilt. Mizzou is up first!

HOW

 WINS:

Josh Dobbs needs to be aggressive and careful with the football…

It's pretty simple, actually. When Josh Dobbs is good, the Vols win. When Josh Dobbs turns the ball over, the Vols lose. Dobbs has thrown five interceptions and has three fumbles in the Vols three losses this season. Let's take out the Bama blow out loss and focus on the two close losses at A&M and at South Carolina. Dobbs has seven turnovers in those two games. His career has been too good, too dynamic for his last game in Neyland Stadium to be a turnover fest. Dobbs needs to protect the ball.

But, Dobbs also needs to be aggressive. When Dobbs runs well, the Vols offense is clicking. Against Kentucky, Dobbs finally got back into the end zone running the ball, after a four game hiatus. I hate to place the outcome of the entire game on one person's shoulders, but this has been the case for Tennessee. Obviously, the OL needs to block well against a decent Mizzou pass rush. And, UT's offensive weapons, Alvin Kamara, John Kelly, Josh Malone and Jauan Jennings need to make splash plays.

Saturday could be a day Derek Barnett makes history. The junior defensive end is two sacks away from tying Reggie White's school career record. Missouri throws the ball A LOT. QB Drew Lock attempts an average of 36 passes a game. Barnett has been a game wrecker this season against Florida and Georgia and the Vols need the big guy to do it again.

HOW

 WINS:

Create an Old Western Shootout with Drew Lock and his posse…

Missouri needs this game to blow by the OVER 67 that Vegas has set. For the Tigers to win this game, they need the winning score to approach 50.

Against Vanderbilt, last week Missouri's top players had huge games to get the Tigers their first SEC win of the season. J'Mon Moore caught eight passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Moore is a big play threat as his 82-yard TD broke the game open in the second quarter at 19-0 Mizzou. Running back Damarea Crockett's first name usually auto-corrects into "Danger" (it's been annoying me). But, it's fitting. The freshman back has been dangerous all season and ran for 154 yards and a TD against Vandy's stud rush defense. Tennessee got gashed in the running game last week, giving up over 440 yards on the ground to Kentucky. Crockett and Ish Witters should have more room to run.

Defensively, Mizzou battered Vandy QB Kyle Shurmur, and they would need to do the same against Josh Dobbs. Charles Harris had a monster game with 2.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss. If Missouri can create turnovers, it could ruin Senior Day on Rocky Top. When the Vols are sloppy with the football, they struggle. Mizzou's defense created two interceptions and took one of them back for a TD last week. If they can duplicate that, the Tigers will have a chance.
