The Tennessee Vols are expected to fall in the new College Football Playoff rankings that will be released on Tuesday night thanks to their 29-point loss to the Missouri Tigers this past weekend.
But how far will they fall?
247Sports took a shot at predicting what the new rankings will look like and they think that Tennessee will fall to No. 18.
(The Vols were ranked No. 13 last week.)
From 247Sports: How far will Tennessee slide and where will the Vols be amongst other three-loss teams after failing to show up for last weekend's game at Missouri? That was a brutal performance for a team whose road woes continued under Josh Heupel, who is 2-5 against SEC competition away from Knoxville since he won last season at LSU. Saturday's task against unbeaten Georgia is considerably tougher and could put Tennessee out of the rankings altogether with another stinker.
That almost feels generous considering the Vols don't have a win against a ranked team this season (and Tennessee is ranked No. 21 in the current AP Top 25 poll).
If Tennessee loses to Georgia this weekend in Knoxville, the Vols will almost certainly fall out of the top 25 for the first time since Week 1 of the 2022 season.
