The Josh Dobbs story that has captivated the nation over the last few weeks hit a speed bump on Monday night.

Dobbs, who was playing in his fourth game for the Minnesota Vikings, had a rough night in a 12-10 loss to the Chicago Bears.

The former Tennessee Vols standout threw a touchdown and four interceptions in the loss. Dobbs also rushed for just 11 yards.

It was the first bad game that Dobbs has had since arriving in Minnesota.

After the game, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell wouldn't commit to Dobbs as Minnesota's starter after their upcoming bye week.

"We're going to take a look and really evaluate the inventory of plays we have of Josh," said O'Connell after the game. "We got healthy. We got Jaren (Hall) back available to us. And then Nick Mullens is available as well."

O'Connell, who said that he considered replacing Dobbs late in the game to give the team a spark, told reporters that the veteran quarterback "battled, no flinch, and just kept playing and competing to try to help us win."

Dobbs gave the Vikings the lead in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass to tight end TJ Hockenson.

After the game, Dobbs was asked about the possibility of getting benched.

"Honestly, I think that's a coaching decision," said Dobbs. "I just focus on myself. Focus on how I can help this team win. Focus on how I can be a better teammate, a better quarterback and focus on how I can make sure the offense is in the right play based on the scenario to go out and execute."

The Vikings will take on the Las Vegas Raiders in a road game after their bye week.
