A former Tennessee Vols tight end has a new home in college football.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported on Friday morning that Vols transfer tight end Jack Van Dorselaer has committed to the Oklahoma Sooners.

Van Dorselaer, a former four-star recruit, entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this week after spending one season at Tennessee. He caught five passes for 23 yards and a touchdown in 2025.

Oklahoma officially hired former Tennessee tight end Jason Witten as the Sooners’ new tight ends coach this week.

It’s a bit of a surprise that Van Dorselaer decided to transfer, but he may have felt that he was behind Ethan Davis and DaSaahn Brame on the Vols’ depth chart.

Oddly enough, the lowest moment of Van Dorselaer’s true freshman season came against Oklahoma, when he dropped a critical pass on a fourth down attempt.

Van Dorselaer, though, also had some good moments as a true freshman, including an important block he made on quarterback Joey Aguilar’s game-tying touchdown run against Mississippi State.

The former Vol has three seasons of eligibility remaining.
