Vols fans should appreciate Vanderbilt HC Tim Corbin's thoughts on Tennessee's national championship getting overshadowed

The Tennessee Vols baseball program's national championship win wasn't overshadowed in the Volunteer state last month, but it didn't quite receive the attention outside of the state of Tennessee as it should've due to the Texas/Texas A&M coach drama.
Just after the Vols' win against Texas A&M in Omaha, then-Aggies head coach Jim Schlossnagle left to become the new head coach at Texas.
The drama of Schlossnagle leaving College Station for Austin led to more attention being directed at the Texas/Texas A&M programs than Tennessee's national championship win.
And Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin, despite being one of the Vols' biggest rivals, didn't think the drama was good for college baseball.
According to The Athletic, Corbin "lamented" the fact that the Texas/Texas A&M/Schlossnagle story overshadowed Tennessee's natty.
From The Athletic: Corbin, the Vanderbilt coach, lamented that the saga overshadowed Tennessee’s time in the spotlight as national champion, and said, “I don’t think this was necessarily good for college baseball. I think it could have waited and nothing would have been lost.”
Vanderbilt and Tennessee might be rivals on the field, but Corbin still believes the Vols deserved to be celebrated more than they were last month.
And I think that's a sentiment that every Tennessee fan can appreciate.
