Two Tennessee Volunteers are being seriously considered by the Tennessee Titans to be taken in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft
Former Vols players are being hosted by Titans for Top 30 visits.
NASHVILLE – With the 2025 NFL Draft just weeks away, two Tennessee Volunteers are getting a legitimate look from the Tennessee Titans about staying in-state as they take their football career to the highest level.
Wide receiver Dont’e Thornton and defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott both have Top 30 visits scheduled with the Titans in the coming weeks. Norman-Lott will have his visit later this week while Thornton is scheduled to be in Nashville next week on April 15th.
If a player attends college in the same "metropolitan area" as the NFL team hosting the visit, that visit can be designated as a local visit and won’t count against the 30 player limit. The Titans are making these official Top 30 visits, not local visits.
This more than the Titans doing their due diligence. Thornton and Norman-Lott are seriously on their radar.
NFL Projections
Thornton played two seasons in Knoxville after transferring in from Oregon for his Junior year. He had the best season of his college career in 2024 posting 661 yards and six touchdowns on just 26 catches. His 25.4 yards per catch was the most in all of college football among players who caught at least 20 passes.
In the NFL, Thornton protects best as a deep threat to take the top off of defenses. He runs a 4.3 in the 40 and has good hands in traffic.
Thornton is currently the 19th ranked wide receiver and 151st ranked overall player on the consensus big board. He will probably go on Day 3 of the draft.
Norman-Lott also came in as a transfer (Arizona State) and had 9.5 sacks from the defensive tackle position for the Volunteers over two seasons. While undersized, Norman-Lott’s ability to cause chaos in the trenches will land him on an NFL roster in 2025 and allow him to play a rotational role wherever he lands.
Norman-Lott is the 11th ranked defensive lineman and 83rd ranked overall prospect, making him a candidate to go in Round 3 on day two.
Two players that contributed to the Volunteers success over the last two years could end up having a similar role for the Titans.
