Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is hoping to make the Arizona Cardinals' 53-man roster this fall.
Guarantano, who played at Tennessee from 2016 to 2020, is currently operating as the Cardinals' No. 4 quarterback. That means the odds of him making Arizona's 53-man roster as slim at best.
JG, however, has looked good during preseason action. In fact, he threw his third touchdown of the preseason on Saturday night against the Tennessee Titans via a perfectly placed pass.
Check it out:
If that pass is thrown anywhere else, it's not a touchdown.
Guarantano, who spent his final season of eligibility at Washington State, struggled at times during his five seasons at Tennessee. But that wasn't all his fault. The incredibly tough New Jersey native dealt with some less-than-ideal situations during his time with Vols. He had two different head coaches and four different offensive coordinators.
That's obviously not a recipe for success.
While Guarantano is unlikely to make the Cardinals' 53-man roster, he's at least put enough good things on film that another team might take a chance on him.
