San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings, a former Tennessee Vols standout, saw his team get eliminated from the NFL playoffs on Sunday via a 31-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

After the loss, Jennings met with reporters and he got a bit emotional while discussing the 2022 49ers.

He also took responsibility for a missed blocking assignment that resulted in a sack.

"The personalities in the wideout room especially," said Jennings when asked what he'd remember most about the 2022 49ers. "That's my guys, my dogs, my brothers. Everybody is my brothers, but you know just, wideouts, the brotherhood….I'm getting emotional right now."

"I had a block, a blown assignment, No. 7 got a sack," added Jennings when asked about what he would replay over in his mind about the game. "[He] simply shouldn't have. I gotta make that play. If I make that play and there's no sack then who knows what happens down the field."

Jennings wasn't perfect on Sunday — none of the 49ers were. But he's a guy that's always going to take responsibility instead of blaming others. So it's no surprise that he held himself accountable after the loss to the Eagles on Sunday.

I'm sure Jennings and the 49ers will be back in contention next season, but this one is going to hurt them for a while.
