Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel gave a great behind-the-scenes look this week at UT quarterback Hendon Hooker's best moment of the season.
Hooker's "Heisman Moment" came in the final moments of the Vols' 52-49 win over Alabama back in October.
The Greensboro, NC native had 15 seconds to get Tennessee into field goal range for a chance to win the game.
Hooker showed incredible poise while completing two passes to get the Vols in range for Chase McGrath's game-winning field goal.
Tennessee's official Twitter account put out a video on Thursday evening of Heupel discussing that drive and what went into the decision to go for the points instead of taking a knee and settling things in overtime.
Heupel said Hooker looked at him and said "I got this coach".
And that was enough for Heupel. He trusted his quarterback and his quarterback went and won the game.
I don't know if Hooker will win the Heisman. But this moment from October is a good reminder to folks voting of why he should still be strongly considered for the award despite missing the Vanderbilt game due to his torn ACL.
