The Tennessee Vols are 7-1 entering the final few weeks of the regular season.

Tennessee suffered a tough loss to Arkansas earlier this season, but all of their goals are still attainable despite that loss.

The Vols are in a situation where if they win out in the regular season — which would mean a win against Georgia in Athens — and then they win the SEC Championship game, they'll likely earn a first round bye in the College Football Playoff.

Not many teams are still in the mix to earn one of the top four seeds in the playoff, but Tennessee is very much one of those teams.

And 247Sports' latest SEC power rankings reflect that fact.

Tennessee comes in at No.3 in 247Sports' latest SEC power rankings, behind Texas at No. 2 and Georgia at No. 1.

From 247Sports: Fair to say Tennessee looked more impressive the first month of the season than it has over the last month? That happens with softer schedules early, but credit Josh Heupel's team for finding ways to win late against Florida, Alabama and Kentucky. The Vols could've lost any of those contests at Neyland Stadium, but managed to come away with three wins since the upset at Arkansas. They're in control of their playoff destiny and will play for a league title if they're able to win out.

The Vols have struggled offensively at times this season, especially over the last month, but all of those struggles will be forgotten if the offense can catch fire over the final few weeks of the season.

Tennessee could go on a roll offensively at a moment's notice. If that happens, they might be playing for a national championship in January.
