USC fans probably aren't happy with former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Velus Jones Jr this week.
That's because Jones, who played for USC before transferring to Tennessee, insinuated that he views himself as more of a former Vol than a former Trojan.
Jones, who was selected by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, quoted a tweet that referenced USC's wide receiver room in 2019.
The former Vol wide receiver tweeted GBO (Go Big Orange) in reference to the USC-themed tweet.
Jones caught 36 passes for 347 yards during his three seasons with the Trojans.
In two years at Tennessee, Jones caught 84 passes for 1,087 yards and 10 touchdowns. That includes his breakout 2021 season when he caught 62 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns.
It's pretty clear that Jones is in the NFL because of what he accomplished at Tennessee. So it's understandable if feels more like a former Vol than a former Trojan.
With the way college football fans argue over claiming players in the transfer portal era, this is sure to hurt some feelings in Southern California.
