Peyton Manning knows a thing or two about beating Alabama. He beat the Crimson Tide three times as the starting quarterback for the Tennessee Volunteers. Most famously, he led the Vols to a 41-14 blowout win in 1995 that broke a 8-game losing streak to Bama.
So, who would be a better person to talk to this week than Manning himself? On Thursday, ESPN posted a video of Manning recalling that great 1995 game. And the best part is that he's explaining it all to former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy. Take a look…
The Sherriff will be in town for tomorrow's game against the Tide. He'll even be the guest picker on College Gameday. And no, the "Peyton Curse" is not real (apparently he was even at the LSU game last week, in case you were worried). And it's especially not real with Alabama, considering his history against them.
But regardless, here's hoping Peyton's presence at the game will inspire Hendon Hooker to finally bring the Vols a win over Bama again. And maybe, just maybe, we'll be feeling like we did in 1995 when UT is walking off the field on Saturday night.
