The Tennessee Vols had to wait 24 hours, but they took care of business on the diamond on Thursday night by crushing Vanderbilt 10-1 to advance in the SEC Tournament.

After the game, UT head coach Tony Vitello and several Tennessee players spoke to the media about the win.

One reporter asked catcher Evan Russell and outfielder Drew Gilbert a question about the Vols going 4-0 against the Commodores this season.

Vitello intercepted the question and pointed out how tough it can be to play in the SEC. Tennessee's head coach then started laughing as he explained that Gilbert makes him nervous anytime he "opens his mouth" to reporters.

I'm guessing Vitello thought Gilbert might say something about Vanderbilt that would generate some fun headlines. This little exchange, though insignificant, shows the great culture Vitello has created at Tennessee. Part of being a good baseball team is having a great clubhouse. And it's clear that UT has an incredible clubhouse right now.

By the way, Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin was asked about Tennessee's baseball team this season and he had some great things to say about Vitello and the Vols.

Corbin said Tennessee is one of the "better teams" he's seen during his 20 years of coaching in the SEC.

The Vols will take on LSU on Friday night (game time is TBD — Tennessee vs LSU will be the last game of the night).
