Tennessee Vols fans can officially start thinking about the next Manning that could be wearing Orange and White.
Peyton Manning's son, Marshall, turns 12 this spring, so he still has quite a few years before he'll be going through the recruiting process, but he already has the look of a future SEC quarterback.
Marshall tagged along with his dad this week at the Pro Bowl skills competition in Las Vegas and he showed off his arm.
Check it out:
That kid definitely has a big football future. And I'm sure Tennessee will very much be in the mix to land him in 2029.
The Mannings are famous for not pushing a program on their kids, so it's not a guarantee that Marshall will land in Knoxville.
But unlike with Arch Manning (Cooper's son and Peyton's nephew), the Vols will be at the forefront of Marshall's recruitment.
Arch's only connection to Tennessee was via Peyton. He had much more of a family connection to Ole Miss. And that wasn't enough to sway Arch to Oxford. Marshall's connection to the Vols goes a little deeper since his dad is football royalty in Knoxville.
Marshall's recruitment will likely be even crazier than Arch's, especially when trying to keep it a secret.
Tennessee has to be considered the early favorite. And I think it's safe for Vols fans to start thinking about what it'll be like to see Peyton's son starring on Rocky Top, though they also have to acknowledge that signing Marshall won't be a slam dunk for the Vols.
