Everyone knows about Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker's football skills, but did you know he was also an impressive high school basketball player?
WFMY's Brian Hall tweeted out a highlight video on Monday of Hooker playing basketball at Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC.
And Hooker definitely has some basketball skills.
There's even a nice alley-oop that Hooker finishes off in the clip.
Hooker is a gifted quarterback in part because of his ability to quickly process what he sees on the field. But his athleticism, which you can see in his basketball highlights, is what truly takes his game to another level (high IQ quarterback plus elite physical skills = success).
By the way, earlier this season, Hooker told reporters that he's the best basketball player on Tennessee's roster.
Charlie Burris and I asked Vols basketball legend Ron Slay about Hooker's comments back in October. Slay told us that he could see Hooker's basketball skills come out on the football field (Slay also jokingly ribbed Hooker for his spin move).
Hooker is a special talent and the Vols were certainly fortunate to have him on Rocky Top for two fun-filled seasons.
