The New England Patriots are re-signing wide receiver Jalen Reagor to a one-year deal, Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz reports.
Reagor signed with the Patriots practice squad just before the start of the 2023 season. After using up all of his elevations, he was officially signed to the active roster at the end of October.
He specifically displayed his speed in Week 17 after returning an opening kickoff for a 98 yard touchdown against the Buffalo Bills. This was the first kick return touchdown of his career.
The wide receiver's time in the NFL has not been easy after being selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he did not perform the way anyone expected, finishing his first season with 31 receptions for 396 yards and one touchdown. In his second season, he didn't do much better, recording 33 receptions for 299 yards and two touchdowns.
After the 2021 season, the Eagles had seen enough and decided to trade him to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2023 seventh round pick. He spent the entire season with the Vikings, but was waived as part of final roster cuts prior to the 2023 season.
That's when the Patriots swooped in. And they wanted to keep him around for a bit longer.
