The New England Patriots have already beaten the New York Jets once, but the next time might not be as easy.
Aaron Rodgers went down just 75 seconds into his first game with the Jets, rupturing his Achilles and was sidelined for what many thought would be the entire season.
But it seams the quarterback has defied the odds.
On Sunday Night Football, NBC reporter Melissa Stark said that Rodgers is targeting a mid-December return.
Rodgers had surgery immediately following the initial injury, and his recovery has gone very well. He has been seen without crutches and has even joined the field prior to games, throwing a ball around.
Zach Wilson took over for Rodgers after the injury, and the Jets currently have a 4-5 record this season. While it is very unlikely, if New York is able to make a playoff push, Rodgers will be returning at just the right time.
But unfortunately for a few teams on the Jets schedule, they might have to face the star quarterback.
And you guessed it: the Patriots are one of those teams
New England's final game of the regular season is against the Jets on Jan. 7 at Gillette Stadium. And it seems it could be Rodgers who leads the team this time instead of Wilson, who has already lost to the Patriots once this season.
Based on the way he is trending, the Patriots defense should be prepared to go up against Rodgers and a determined Jets offense.
