The New England Patriots made headlines on Saturday after they hosted Ezekiel Elliott on a visit.

The Patriots have been on the hunt for a veteran running back, having hosted free agents Leonard Fournette and former Rams running back Darrell Henderson on workouts last week, while also expressing interest in Dalvin Cook.

On Sunday, Bill Belichick was asked about Elliott's visit, and as expected, he did not give up anything.

"Yeah, again I'll pass on the players that aren't on our team," Belichick said.

Elliott reportedly left Gillette Stadium on Saturday without a deal, but the two sides are expected to remain in contact. However, they could have some competition (again), as the New York Jets have also expressed interest. Elliott is expected to weigh his decisions to see which teams is the best fit.

Yet, the Patriots might have a leg up, with Elliott and quarterback Mac Jones being photographed together in Boston on Saturday night.

The three-time Pro Bowler has 8,262 rushing yards and 68 touchdowns across 103 games played. On the receiving side, has has recorded 305 receptions for 2,336 yards and 12 touchdowns, across his seven years in the league.

While they have Rhamondre Stevenson, who is coming off a breakout season, a veteran back would elevate the offense and provide more depth.

Elliott was at the facility during the team's day off, but the rest of the team returned to Foxborough on Sunday and it will be interesting to see if any deals are done in next few days.
