The Lamar Jackson saga reached new heights Monday when the former NFL MVP revealed details about his trade quest. In terms of Jackson and the New England Patriots, well, a detail was revealed in that context, as well.

According to Patriots owner Robert Kraft, celebrity rapper Meek Mill texted him a few days ago informing Kraft that Jackson wanted to play in New England. Sure enough, Kraft told Mill that kind of decision is left up to Bill Belichick.

Belichick was asked about Jackson on Monday and declined to comment since Jackson is on another team. Belichick expectedly took the same route when he was reminded that Jackson is technically a free agent.

Kraft's revelation also comes after Belichick was non-committal about Mac Jones' role as the Patriots' starting quarterback in 2023. In all, the position isn't as settled as it may appear on the outside.

Kraft's relationship with Mill extends back a few years when Kraft visited a then-imprisoned Mill and used his platform to push for criminal justice reform. But, even though their relationship is solid, it remains to be seen how accurate Mill's message really is.

Either way, it's another development in the ever-growing saga and like everyone else, it's going to be very interesting to see how everything plays out.
