It’s not much, but the Patriots released footage of rookie wide receivers Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas practicing at rookie minicamp from this weekend. Rookie minicamp was closed to fans and the media.
The Patriots tweeted out the clip of Boutte and Douglas catching passes Tuesday. Wide receivers coach Troy Brown is overseeing the two rookies in the video.
Both rookies were both selected in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft and have both signed their rookie contracts with New England.
Boutte, a former five-star recruit, fell in the draft after a promising start to his LSU career due to injury and off-field concerns. Douglas, who was lightly recruited out of high school before landing at Liberty, is an undersized playmaker.
Boutte and Douglas will complete for spots on the roster behind fellow wideouts JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Tyquan Thornton. Tre Nixon and Raleigh Webb also are vying for roster spots.
The Patriots waited until the sixth round to take an offensive playmaker in the draft, but Boutte and Douglas are both worthy late-round fliers.
