The New England Patriots already had an uphill battle ahead of them, facing one of the top teams in the league, but it just got harder.

The team announced on Saturday that cornerback Jonathan Jones and offensive lineman Cole Strange did not make the trip to Dallas and will be out for tomorrow's game against the Cowboys.

With Jack Jones and Marcus Jones on injured reserve and now Jonathan Jones being out, the Patriots will rely on Christian Gonzalez, Myles Bryant and Shaun Wade as the cornerback group. They could also look to elevate Breon Borders and Azizi Hearn from the practice squad to provide additional depth.

The is the third straight game Jonathan Jones will be out for.

As for Strange, the offensive lineman has been very limited in practice this week, leaving his availability for the weekend in doubt. And it seems the Patriots have answered this question.

He left last week's game in the third quarter.

It appears rookie Atonio Mafi will be the best candidate to start at left guard in Strange's place.

This is a blow to the offensive line who seemed to have figured things out last week, not allowing any sacks. The Patriots also saw more success with the run game.

While Dallas will be without T Tyron Smith, the Patriots are without two players that have the ability to change the game.

The duo were two of five players on Friday's injury report. Shaun Wade was a new addition to the list, appearing to have a shoulder injury and listed as questionable.

DL Christian Barmore and DL Davon Godchaux are the other two on the list, with Godchaux having left last week's game early.
